Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Mininova - Niek Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 The upgrade ZIP file is missing at least the ipsclass.php file, causing errors in several places. I'm not sure more files are missing, but this is kinda frustrating (2.2.0 -> 2.2.1 had similar issues)...
Mininova - Niek Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Thanks, was it just the ipsclass.php file or were more files missing? In other words: do I have to re-apply the update, or is my installation OK now?
Will L. Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Upload the missing files.go re-download the zip from client center
^Jackel Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 I appear to be having the same problem with the version displayed on the footer not being updated. I've even downloaded the full 2.2.2 board but still no change. And the upgrade seems to have wen't without any problems, as it displays correctly in the admin panel.I've tried different browsers and from different locations. Weird

tomturd Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Same here. Still displaying 2.2.1. Upgraded about 10 mins ago.
tomturd Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Re-uploaded all the files - worked for another guy, but not me. Any help anyone?
Tomm Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Mine to, just got the zip 20 minutes ago from the clent center and it has ipsclass.php. The gallery and blog show the correct version. mut be a wacky bug somewhere. Also my reset patch link does not work, that might be because i have my admin folder renamed something else as reccomended by invision for security.
Michael Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Pretty sure it's the init.php file that needs updated. If it's not included in the upgrade pack, download the full 2.2.2 package and get it from there.
Tomm Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Yup that worked, so bottom line is they should include the init.php file in the upgrade pack. Start zipping :) :)
Quillz Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Ah... This must be why the upgrade script killed my board.
Stewart Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Ah... This must be why the upgrade script killed my board.Must be something different, that file being missing wouldn't kill anything, if you submit a ticket we can have a look :)
bfarber Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Yes, the only thing the init.php would affect (assuming you had the 2.2.1 copy) is the version # as displayed at the bottom of your site.
PolakTom101 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Go Yeah last night I found that sources/components_acp/bugtracker.php was missing. Don't know if you guys added it yet.Yeah init.php was not on the list and also anyone upgrading guys might want to update your whole upgrade directory because I noticed some files we edited between IP.Board 2.2.1 and IP.Board 2.2.2
bfarber Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 bugtracker.php is not a file we distribute, it's part of our bug tracker here - but it's in subversion. Hence, when we pull a subversion difference report, it comes up.Similarly, init.php was not changed - we have a variable in the file that a script Matt wrote replaces when the download is built. Hence, init.php is not reported as changed, and is why it was missed when building the upgrade pack.
Quillz Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Must be something different, that file being missing wouldn't kill anything, if you submit a ticket we can have a look :)Yeah... I think I totally killed my board this time. I have no idea what I did. I was just uploading the changed files to upgrade, as always. My board sucked anyway, though. I'll just start over.
^Jackel Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Odd, it appears that everything had failed to upload correctly the first two times.Fixed now :)
ArunOnline Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 So is it safe to download the upgrade file now ? I hope all missing files have been added by now ?
spade16 Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 any chance of putting a date/time indicator in the filename of upgrade releaseswhen something like this goes off, never sure if have latest version so always end up re-downloadinga date/time reference would save customers time and companies resources :)
sunrisecc Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 a date/time reference would save customers time and companies resources :)I agree. However I added the init.php from the full download to the upgrade package and also implemented the following fix. http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...mp;bug_cat_id=3.I updated overnight with no problems.
