Hey,

On topic view... when you press a username, it shows a dropdown menu thing right?

Can you add edit member for staff, as you have to go profile, then edit member :P

Disagree. What if an admin account it hacked? The user would never need to access the ACP to create more damage than necessary. For editing names, if a sub-admin or moderator decides to get even with someone who wasn't so nice about a decision they could cause a mess of trouble (assuming the user didn't notice a change in the user or couldn't log in would be about the worst issue).

I would leave this to a modification. If its something administative, leave in in the administrative control panel.

1. I doubt this wouldn't be logged
2. I doubt that IPB would let a 'less' powerful admin (like #2) edit #1 accounts via any method
3. IPB should also add some things zetaboards should have: Admin account can not be deleted, if it's moved into another group (ROOT admin into say the members group or some group that doesn't have ACP access) they can still access the ACP.
4. Lesser admins/other ROOT admins can not edit #1's account {less that was already addedd}.

If you worry so much about hacking...there wouldn't be anything to it and if you're hacked, no matter what you're screwed anyways.

It seems often forgotten that member id #1 is not a special user. We have no intentions of making id #1 a special user. In fact, if someone is trying to hack your site and grab an admin account, that's the first one they go for since it's so common.

A root admin is a root admin. Think about this - what if you sell your site to someone else and make them a root admin. You can never be demoted just because your id is #1? At the end of the day, if you get demoted, you can just go into phpmyadmin and set the mgroup back to 4. I've done it before. ;)
