MasumX
--I think it's time to change the coding and quoting style no? It needs a new style & improvements.-Also ability to select quoted & coded text in one simple click. It's annoying to me that I have to select all the text by highlighting them with mouse. As you can see there is a <select> link, which you can click to select the coded & quoted area :)I think, this should have been a feature of IPB 2.2!Here are some suggestion, I also made about IPB 2.2 ( But were too late, since IPB 2.2 is already feature locked down) so I guess they apply for IPB 3.0? http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=227901 Maybe mod can move the topic here? or should I start another topic for them? Strange_Will
If code and quote tags wern't hard coded, I'd be up for working those suggestions into workable code! :DBut alas, aren't they hard coded?
UBERHOST.NET
Right now we can click into a text box, press Ctrl + A to select all text, then Ctrl + C to copy it. This is somehow too much work?

Dlf
Less i'm mistaken if you do CTRL+A trying to highlight just the text in the QUOTE or CODE tags it highlights the entire page.
Brandon C
I wouldn't mind seeing this feature for quote and code styles and believe this is a useful suggestion, as I would use it.

Michael
And so how much time does it take you guys to highlight a block of text or code you want to copy for quote/code tags? It doesn't take me very long, maybe I'm just really good at it...

Anyway, I do agree with you that there's not much time involved in copying text manually! :)

Michael
It's like comparing which is easier, picking up a piece of paper or picking up a stapler. Sure, picking up a piece of paper is easy because it's much lighter, but a stapler's not exactly heavy; picking it up is pretty darn easy too. Dlf
Also the option (small buttons) to enlarge or delarge (make it smaller) the quote/code/codebox/what ever other boxes you can put into a post.I also have a additional suggestion to mine above. Being able to select what you want with a (tiny button?) near 'select', when clicked a little box out to the side pops up & you can type what you want highlighted. It's very strange (but probably very good) that I can think of somethings on the spot.
Strange_Will
Okay, well you can't select the text in a div (regular Problems:- I don't think you can make textboxes 100% width, so it looks funny.- HTML <br>s show up when changing back to a div, I can fix this with a regular expression. Now it seems to work fairly okay, but you can't replace the code box can you? If not I wont work with it anymore...I can make this work fine for the codebox, thats like a one line edit. :P) so what I did with javascript is change it into a textbox and select all. When unselected it changes back to a div

To me, a great big block of text like this still is comparable to the 'stapler' in my analogy.

Don't believe that and it was a small sample but the quoted text could've been much much bigger. Anyways, you might be fast at selecting but everyone is not same as you (you can't justify everything based on your skills). You're referring to a "stapler" not "many" staplers. You see the difference? enough ranting, but I can assure you that if they were to integrate this feature in IPB many people would use this then using the highlight method. why? because it's easier, takes less time, and less hustle and what kewlceo said. This won't come in handy when they need to select a portion of quoted area. But it sure will come in handy when selecting a huge quoted or coded area for a fact.
