King Buzzo Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Does anyone have any screens of what the 2.2 portal is like? Any functionality changes with it?
Stec Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Ahhh yes I was so excited about the profile page I forgot about the trusty portal....I'm also interested to know if there are any improvements or new features?
Quillz Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I guess we'll have to wait until Friday to find out.
Microo Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Hi there, I think IPS should make a nice Portal... Something like phpBB Plus has or phpNuke... I love those 2 portals... But there are no such mods for IPB... it would be great to see a nice Portal integrated with the new 2.2... I'm looking forward to the final release and get a new license! :)Cheers,sT7

Jaggi Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 matt mentioned a secret thing that is so amazing but they keeping it a secret, not sure wot it was but might be the portal system as its the only thing to still be shrowded in entire secrecy, i tried to access this forums portal but doesn't seem to be working or up.

RainX Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Ye when signed out it looks exactly the same as before *-)I hope something changed.
The Clash Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I don't think there should be a portal, IP.Dynamic will solve that little problem...
Quillz Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I don't think there should be a portal, IP.Dynamic will solve that little problem...And what about for those who don't want and/or can't afford IP.Dynamic? I happen to use the portal on my board, and I'd hate to see it taken away just because IP.Dynamic is available for use.
sychn Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I have edit the portal template in my site, I hope the portal of 2.2.0 is still easy to be edited.my site: www.fpschina.com
Wilko Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 There has been no changes to the portal in 2.2 unfortunatly.
Jaggi Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 so wots the stuff bfarber was going on about, was that the 3.0 portal???
Avonlea22 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 According to THIS post there has been changes
Adam Kinder Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 According to THIS post there has been changesThat post is actually referring to the member profile page as the member portal, not the main board portal.
Jaggi Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 no they named the profile page "portal" nothing about the main portal.
Guest Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 so wots the stuff bfarber was going on about, was that the 3.0 portal???That would probably be his third-party portal system component: http://www.ipsbeyond.com/forums/index.php?...mp;showfile=543
King Buzzo Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 There has been no changes to the portal in 2.2 unfortunatly. That is too bad. The portal is the first thing people see when they get to my site. I can tell my members all day about how wonderous this new release is going to be, but, if I have the same old portal I expect to get the Monty Python "And there was much rejoicing, yaaaaaayyyy".Turning the conversation, what are the plans for the portal? Right now it seems to operate as an afterthought. Not much functionality there...
Microo Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 True, I agree on that the IPB portal is very poor

King Buzzo Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 So, now that people have the beta....is it true? Absolutely no changes to the Portal? Would love a link if someone has one set up.I would check myself but I am at work ;)
