Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
forums.bd Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Well, this is totally new system. i noticed when clicking on user names there's few options including find posts by the user, so if its not a really big thing, it would be great if you can add "find topics" by member.
.Cameron Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 It's already there. In 2.1.x too, I believe.Find Topics by forums.bdProfile > Options > Find Topics By This Member
Jaggi Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 u can do it via the search area by typing in their member name as topic author.
Κeith Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I agree, it should be in the dropdown for the name link in topics. :)
Brandon C Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I agree, it should be in the dropdown for the name link in topics. :)+1, I would like to see this in the drop down name link menu as well. :)
TCWT Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 +1 please add it back, why would you remove it? Doesn't take much roomu can do it via the search area by typing in their member name as topic author.that's only to find the topics in which the member posted in, not the topics STARTED by the member.
Κeith Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 It's still in the profile, I would just like to see it in the topic menu. :)
FrostedPopTart Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I thought there was something missing. I agree, it should be added back in. :)
TestingSomething Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 While theya re at it, they should do what ntd did in a mod and include "find member's posts in this topic"
Guest Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 It's already there. In 2.1.x too, I believe.Find Topics by forums.bdProfile > Options > Find Topics By This MemberIt's not really usefull as it is though, it only finds the topics that member has started, not the topics the member has participated in.
TestingSomething Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Oooh, that's a kinda cool idea. B)Yeah, I sue it on my main forum. I think it is pretty useful where you can quickly see a person's post history for the topic.
Cooltad Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 While theya re at it, they should do what ntd did in a mod and include "find member's posts in this topic"This could be handy, just wonder if there will end up being too many options in the drop-down menu.
Κeith Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 ^^ Which is probably why the topics link was left out. It's not really usefull as it is though, it only finds the topics that member has started, not the topics the member has participated in.That's the purpose of it though. :PAnd it is very useful in a lot of ways. :D
Guest Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I think the way it has been in phpBB for ages (=all topics where you participated in) is more usefull from a member point of view, especially members who visit the forum irregularly and who want to see whether there were any replies to their topics (their topics being not necessarily topics they started) :)
TCWT Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 While theya re at it, they should do what ntd did in a mod and include "find member's posts in this topic"I requested this a while ago
Κeith Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I disagree, Peter. When I click "find topics" I want to see the topics created by the user, just how the find posts finds all posts made by the user.If I want to see topics that have new replies that I've participated in, I look for the status icon with the dot that shows me I've posted there. :/
forums.bd Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I think there's a little confusions. let me clarify. - find topics in which the user has posted IS DIFFERENT FROM - finding topics which the user started IS DIFFERENT FROM - finding all posts by the user!:)
