  1. Coming from bbpress, I am familiar with editing posts and embedded images using HTML. Now, I am a little lost with how I can format my posts. Is there a way to adjust the size of images? Is there a way to format posts similar to when using HTML?
  2. Now that you are asking the question, I see that it was posted 9 hours ago, which I thought was strange since it was not installed 9 hours ago. I think it might have been a draft that was set in bbpress before the migration. Let's see if I can delete that one and repost from scratch. OK, I guess that was the issue. It was a draft from bbpress that was migrated into Invision. I did post it again, from scratch and it only shows for admin account, which is what I was expecting all along. Thanks. 🙂
  3. I am migrating from bbpress and I had ranking based on the members' number of posts. Now that I have Invision, everyone seems to go back to zero, which is a little bit of a bummer for those who had hundreds or thousands of posts already. Is there a way to import their number of posts for ranking? If not, can I do something manual for them? It might be tedious, but I would at least want to reward the regular posters with a reasonable "rank" to start the year 🙂
  4. I just installed the forum and it is a great time as I normally will schedule posts for the first of the month. So I did. I scheduled something for January 1st, 2023, but it is already showing, even though it is shown to be locked. For me, as admin, I see this: But for a non-logged in visitor, here is what is seen: So it is already visible in the forum and furthermore, it is also clickable for anyone. Am I misunderstanding the functionality of "scheduling topics"? Also, I was looking for a guide to the posting part (not the CP angle) so I can make tutorials for my members. Is there one?
  5. Thanks. That is simpler than I expected.
  6. And if end up with domain.com/[invision]/gallery and domain.com/[invision]/forum, what will I have to do to adjust all the links already in place in the domain.com/gallery ? Or does it even make sense?
  7. So I might as well keep the /gallery/ part? and have /gallery/forum in the end to add the forum?
  8. Oh ok. so, if anything, I could do (for example) domain.com/invision/gallery and domain.com/invision/forum but I cannot have JUST domain.com/forum and domain.com/gallery (which is what I was hoping to have in the first place).
  9. Hum... I had asked before and thought I could end up with domain.com/gallery for the gallery and domain.com/forum for the forum part instead of having both under a single section with then sub-sections. Isn't that possible? Will I automatically have a section called domain.com/[generic name] before getting /gallery and /forum?
  10. OK so , since I already installed the gallery under domain.com/gallery, do I need to install something else to have the forum part on domain.com/forum? I know I installed the gallery before the forum, which seems a little atypical. Hopefully, I didn't shoot myself in the foot by doing so?
  11. Oh. So, I am going about it the wrong way? Can you point me to where I should start then? I am a little lost. And at which point will I use the migration tool to migrate my current bbpress forum?
  12. I have already installed the core of Invision and the gallery. Now, I want to install the forum and it asks me for a licence. However, it won't take the one I have. What am I missing? Do I need an additional licence? Or is it a different one from the initial installation and if so, where is it? I did purchase both, the gallery and the forum already.
  13. Thanks.
  14. As I am getting ready to do the migration, in a few days, I see the mention of what can be migrated, but it says "Convert from this platform using our paid conversion service, or free app" but I cannot see where the "free app" can be found/downloaded. Can you point me to the correct place? I will be migrating from bbpress.
  15. Thank you. That is what I was looking for 🙂
  16. Thank you. That is not specifically the information I was remembering seeing but it might have all I need. Is there a list somewhere, of the various forums it can migrate from? I thought I saw it somewhere but can't find it.
  17. I know I have seen the information about what forum one can migrate from (I currently have bbpress), but I cannot find it anymore. Can you point me to where that information, including what is possible to migrate from bbpress for example?
  18. Thanks. That might be it. I was not aware that it is the way a message sent through that link would look like.
  19. This morning, I got an email notification of a message (I removed identifying information): Hi Carole, A user has sent a message using the Contact Us form. Annie xxx ( xxxxxxx@googlemail.com ) said: Where are you? — Invision Community There is no link to click. I went into my site and there is no message under my account. With this short message, maybe it is a spam message but either way, I would like to "address" it. Where will I find it?
  20. With daily activities, it might not make much sense. That is fine and that is how I explained how to do it. I just wished there was a SIMPLE way to click on the embeded image and be directed to the gallery post. Considering that some threads are not related to a specific course or lesson (like What are you working on?) and members creating their own albums, it would not make things easy to find. If an "automatic link back" to the gallery is not available, I guess I would have to ask members to embed the image AND link to the gallery.
  21. The forum threads are used to have a cohort of students complete their projects, on a daily basis, and I go in, also on a daily basis to give feedback to all. Since I put the feedback to all in ONE post, everyone benefits from it. If I was to give feedback in the gallery, only the poster would get the valuable information. Here is a current thread for our bootcamp. So, if there was a "simple" way that the image could be clicked on, and it would direct the viewer to the gallery, along with all the information put there by the poster, it would be great. It would also mean more clicking for the viewer who might want to see the ten projects posted on that day, and just like my feedback post, they would not be as available as intended for others to read.
  22. I currently have the Invision gallery installed but the forum is going to be only added in January. Right now, I still use bbpress, which has been ok for years. Right now, I encourage my members to post their projects in the gallery, and embed their image in the specific forum threads. However, this is slightly different than they used to do as before we had the gallery, all the information about the project was also posted in the forum. Now, they put all the details and credits in the gallery (which is great), but now, when following a thread in the forum, members are not repeating all the information they posted in the gallery. I know I cannot test anything since my Invision forum is not yet installed, but at that point, would the embeded image be linked to the gallery post itself so the viewer could access all the information the poster will have put there? Thank you.
  23. Interesting. Glad to see there is another way to do it. Thanks.
  24. So far, I can see that one way to embed images from the gallery into a forum post is to copy the image address in the gallery and add that inside the post in order to have the actual image displayed instead of just a link. Is that the most effective way or is there a different way? I want to make sure that the same image does not end up to be uploaded twice.
