    As @Woodsman says, follow the guide. And the answer is no, you dont remove ALL of the files of 3.x You have to keep specific files. Do it step by step and tell us where you stuck. It doesn't matter how simple your question is..There are no stupid questions....

    I have done this procedure for test upgrade around 15 times and it always worked..Be sure that you try it on a test install first..

    Where exactly are you havng difficulties in following this post to do the upgrade....Do it step by step. Do you have a test site that you have duplicated from the original? If not start from there and follow the instructions.

    @Woodsman : Maybe you should add directory ccs_files that has to be kept and copied over when you clean upgrade along with public,screenshots,downloads e.t.c. Or it has moved elsewhere?

    I havent upgraded yet to v4 because of some bugs, so every time i am amking test upgrades.. During the upgrade process it notifies you that he will run the converter. At this stage i convert to utf8mb4 and then the process continues and the upgrade is completed.

    do the upgrade again but convert it to utf8mb4 not utf8. This worked for my greek characters

    did you try sublime or notepad++ ? i have worked with bigger files with these editors...

    I did manage ot make a test upgrade even in localhost without problems though .... Syupport is answering to me within 1-3 days

    Tto tell you the truth, in my test upgrade board i didnt touch the license key. I just explained to support when i needed them that this was a test board. No problems until now.

    You could make a copy of your 3.x and disable everything that will not go to 4.0 Then you could just upgrade and adjust it to your liking....This is not an option? (as it is described in the first post in this topic)

    I think i am going to upgrade to 4 at last.. Is this the topic to consult? And if it is why they don't merge it in official upgrade articles?
