  1. When users enter wrong password 5 times their accounts get locked out. But it never shows to him that his account is locked for 15 mins or for how many minutes board admin chooses.

I think board should at least show him how many attempts he still can make before his account get locked. Sometimes people just keep trying and trying but they never realize after 3 wrong trials there account is locked.

Would also like to suggest new feature that if more then 3 fail attempts are made user would received e-mail from which IP those 3 attempts are made on the email which is associated to his account.

I looked all the way but was not able to find that feature. If it is already their someone point me how to enable it.

  2. Erm, it should work with all modifications really. I don't have these modifications so I wouldn't be able to tell you.

I am so willing to purchase it since it's from you. If it doesn't work will you provide support and make it working? Last time i purchased a skin from one site and never received any support.

    • Automated Usergroup Management - Able to have users request to join a usergroup. The user enters their control panel and clicks the usergroup they wish to join. The admin can check a usergroup request queue page and admit/deny/ignore each request. I've seen this compared to features also known as 'social groups.' This is not the same thing. If you have a private section on your boards, and want to limit who sees what, having a system where you can take admin-defined usergroups and flag them as 'joinable' helps immensely in dealing with user wanting into a private area. As it is currently I don't see a way for a user to request access to a private area of your board other than a PM. The above system would let you access a page to see a tabular list of users wanting to join the usergroup, each with a radio button beside them of admit/ignore/deny and a 'process requsts' form button at the bottom to make the changes. I hope I explained this properly; I can elaborate if it wasn't clear what I am talking about.

    • User Management – It is easier to quickly access and change ALL things in a user's profile using vbulletin via clicking their profile link. Instead of looking up a user in the admin panel (which you can also do) IPB just lets you change lesser options if you click on a username and hit 'edit profile'. For the full list you must go into the admin panel and then look up the user. I guess this is because the 'backend' stuff wouldn't really be considered a part of a users profile, which is the more social/public aspect of their information. Regardless, a quick way to get to the backend for that particular user is a nice ability to have. If I see a disruptive person I would much prefer to just click on their name and be given the option to enter their user page as if I looked them up the admin panel.

Both of them where in phpbb3 also. We used it a lot since we also have private forums depending on group and 99% of the gaming forums have private section. Now its nightmare for admin to move each user from ACP. I would personally like to see those features in core IPB itself without any hooks or mod's.

  3. Besides not being able to forward individual messages (which is something we could look at) -

Me and my users will be more then happy if you can add that in 3.0.5. We all used that a lot in phpbb3. I never used IPB 2.x so i have no idea but in phpbb3 their was one option which has to be set in ACP. If receivers PM box is full it will auto delete their oldest message to make room for one new message.

If you can add that in IPB I think it will be awesome.

    Thanks.

  4. Yes it shouldn't be that way by default. All users should have to approve friendships manually unless they switch it off in their settings. Not the other way round in my opinion.

I agree. Everyone is asking me same and all I have to say is go to UCP and change settings. I hope they change it in their next release.

  5. That's actually a sensible use of AJAX which we can look into :) I would still give people the option, it won't necessarily be the same every time, but the options can be presented inline, without leaving the topic.

If you can do that it would be awesome. :) Most of my forum members will love it including me. 80% time people prefer to stick with one notification which they normally use. Like in my case I always use instant notifications. I am not sure what others choose. I just don't want to leave the topic page. :)

    Thanks.
  6. I would like to add one more thing. When ever I click on watch this topic it links to me Please choose your notification method in UCP. Can't I just select it once? I personally don't like moving back and forth. I would like to remain on same page after clicking on "watch this topic".

More or less if anyone likes to change anytime they can go to Manage Watched Topics in UCP and always change it.

  7. It uses a query to retrieve data from database! If you have a very large board with several users line, it's better not to use, of course!

But that mod it's exacly a copy of same from IPB 2.3.X, only converted to IPB3. There's nothing different...

Never used IPB 2.3. :) Used to use phpbb.

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. :)

  8. We were going to post our list but we want to contact the authors first. Don't want to make people look bad for a simple little bug :)

Understood. But if you guys will publish the list before contacting author I personally feel its more good.

    Reason:
    1. I/we/all are thankful to that author but since his hook is giving problem we can disable it temporarily till author fixes it.

    2. For those who think or will think that those author sucks then they should quit because each software has bugs. Every single thing needs bug fixes.

I hope you guys can release the list because I am using 3.0.3 since their are 2 major issues in 3.0.4 and I am waiting badly for 3.0.5.

    Thanks. :)
  9. IP.Board is available for $149.99. This entitles you to run the board indefinitely (for life). You get six months access to technical support, services (Spam monitoring) and to download the latest version of the software. Once that six months is up you can optionally renew for another six months for $25.00. You can allow your renewal to lapse without penalty and renew at any time.

Suppose I am not renewing my license for 1 year after 6 months are up. But now after 1 year I plan to renew my license to get technical support, services and download latest version. Would I be allowed to do that with traditional 25$ 6 months charge?
