  1. I used to be hosted by Invision. It is a good starting website if you don't need a whole lot. I don't think IPB's focus is hosting, but as an extra service to their customers. Its also a great way to have your first website and be able to test the ipb board, but it had its limitations as those boards were encoded so a lot of third party addons did not work with it at the time.

Every time I want to come back, I found that I really can't as I have outgrown their hosting.
They used to have webservers showing on their website, but I don't see that either.
Wish they would have reseller accounts (ones with multiple cpanels).

    1.0.1 Release Notes:
    Fixed some minor skin flaws.

    1.0 Release Notes:

First of all, I took my time with this skin to produce a quality product. It did take longer than expected, but at least you should be getting a quality product.

First of all, this is 100% Mozilla compatible. Internet Explorer is not 100%. Not even IPB managed that, but I did make some of the forums with rounded headers that use images. Not all of them are though.

This was tested with Gallery, Downloads, and IP.Content. Sorry, ip.blog is not included. I also had tested this with ip.shout and ip.tracker. This should be compatible with them.

This skin is a simple modification of the original IPB skin. I didn't want to do too much on the very first skin, but you get the light and dark feeling with this skin. This will be my framework for up and coming skins I create though.

In the past, I have made the header with the skin name. This time around, that is not the case. In order to match the header background, I made the header black.

    How to install:
Installation is not to hard to do.

In the admin panel of your board, go to the look and feel tab and then go to import/export.
    Click the export tab.
In the skin set section upload the skin file.
In the image section, upload the image file.

his is my second version of the LCars which is a great improvement over the first version which more was the outline of Sloan's 1.3 Invision skin.

When I first created this skin, I had been granted permission to recreate this skin with the explicit instructions to have Sloan in the credits. Instead of having it on the board I have it now here in this readme file. Around the time I was about the submit my first version, I have not be able to contact him.

To keep my side of the bargain here is his webaddress even though nothing shows up at the time of writing this. Its been probably down for maybe a few weeks now. Anyway here goes: http://sloan.polarpages.com

Please keep the credits intact as I worked very hard on this skin.

    Version 2 Changes:

    New Lcars design
    New Banner
    New Buttons
Border white around the banner and the top hyperlinks
Centered the hyperlinks at the bottom
    Changed the federation pictures slightly
    Added credit to paramount Pictures
and made the powered by blue

    Install Directions:
go to look and feel in your acp
    then click skin import/export
then import your skin and images files into their designated sections.
If the skin does not look right then import the macros.

If you like my skins, please come to my website as I have some premium skins to offer at a low price.

Instead of having it on the board I have it now here in this readme file. Sadly I have not been able to get in touch with sloan as his site has gone down at the time of submitting this

  8. One comment I wish to make after reading the forwarded url to the topic. Most of you have placed a price tag of an additional fee of $20 extra. There is no benefit if this happens to a Perpetual as they will be paying the same as a Standard. More like $5 for extra sevices would be a benefit for those of us that have and paid extra for such licenses.

We have to wait and see what they are going to do.
  9. I am in total agreement with everyone else here whom has a perpetual license or lifetime license here. I have both the perpetual and the standard just for the record.

If I really wanted this on my board, I can't get because I not willing to transfer my perpetual to a standard for the mere fact that I would lose out in the benefits of the perpetual license has to offer. More specifically, I am not willing to give up on the free upgrades regardless of if I renew support or not with that license.

In order to get the extra features, we should pay an extra $20 a year without having to change the structure of our license.
