Homepage Keeps Changing

Hi!

As of about a month or two ago, every once a couple of weeks, my default homepage keeps resetting to a random Page (always different...).

Does anyone know anything about the system behind the homepage? Any insights would be useful, because I have absolutely no idea what triggers it or what happens.
The "make default page for this folder" mark for the page is set correctly, even when the homepage shows up as a different page... I've had the same homepage for 5+ years with zero issues before.

 

Anything would be helpful, thank you!

There isnt anything that would actively change the home page, unless you have some 3rd party app that manages this perhaps? Have you checked in your admin logs to see if anyone is actually changing it?

Nothing in the logs, no one else other than me editing/creating other pages and creating new page folders the day before this happens... That seems to be the only connecting factor I see. Though I don't touch the homepage, I do set the "default homepage for this folder" INSIDE those other folders.

Please check this the next time you do it, to see if its changing something in the main folder for you

Now with some months of experimenting (after Black Friday and Xmas sales have passed haha...) I can see that any time I create a new folder in Pages, some time later, it resets the homepage "Default page" to a random page. So far, it's always been a different page...

 

It doesn't change the website homepage if I create a new folder, and then:
go to the website homepage and click "set as default page for this folder", even though at face value that does nothing, because at this point we still see the correct homepage.

I will do some testing on this to see if I can reproduce. Anything caching or anything like that you have running on your server?
