Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
marklcfc Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 (edited) I just recently changed the archiving to more than 5 years to more than 6 years (don't ask) and I've noticed the size of the database has grown. This was before and now after The posts table has increased from 2.6 to 3.3 gb as I expected given a years more posts are now accessible but archive posts has increased from 3.7gb to 4.4gb even though it should have a years less posts in there now. Has something gone wrong? Edited December 8, 2023 by marklcfc
Marc Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 We dont really have any control over how your mysql instance stores data, so that would probably be a question for your hosting company really. If the rows had increased (and therefore what data we had in there) then of course that would be us, but the size its using on disk would be your host
