Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
HeavyWolfPL Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Since marketplace closure, there is no way to download stuff anymore, if the author has disappeared from the community. Is there a way to retrieve an app and plugin I have already installed in my community? I wanted to make a clean install for testing, however, I don't have XML files anymore.
Adriano Faria Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 For the plugins, no. You’ll need the XML. Applications: download its folder via FTP. HeavyWolfPL 1

I guess just moving the files between directories won't work. Do plugins store files or data somewhere outside plugins folder then?

Do plugins store files or data somewhere outside plugins folder then? Applications have all files inside their /application folder. For plugins, instead, part of the data is used only when installing and is not saved anywhere. That's the problem. While it's possible to re-create the plugin from the files left on the server, it's not possible to simply re-install them. You'd need to hire someone to redo the plugin for you from the files.
