Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
.Pillhead Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Hey, I have an old pretty much archived forum - that I would like to revive, for nostalgic reasons. The problem is it doesn't even load at all, probably because the server has been through countless upgrades and all the functions in PHP that had specific syntaxes back then aren't the same now....amongst another bunch of plugins and whatever else. I was wondering if it's possible to obtain versions of invision board that were released between then and now and run through upgrade procedures to get back to the old data?

I don't think that older versions of Ipb are still available for download. You can try a direct upgrade though to the current latest version.
teraßyte Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 As Miss_B mentioned above, old versions aren't available anymore for download, unless you downloaded them at the time they were available and have a backup copy of the zip file somewhere. That said, while there are possibly going to be some PHP 8-related errors when upgrading straight from 3.4 to 4.7, it's certainly possible. I do it often.
.Pillhead Posted September 15, 2023 Author Posted September 15, 2023 Alright, great, thanks. And the latest version is available to obtain where, how much does it cost - I guess my perpetual license was defunct a long time ago.
teraßyte Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 (edited) See if you have a pending invoice in your client area: https://invisioncommunity.com/clientarea/ If there's none, try contacting IPS to find out what you can do based on your current license: https://invisioncommunity.com/contact-us/ (Accounts & Billing department) Here you go also a couple of links: Self-hosted license price/details: https://invisioncommunity.com/buy/self-hosted/ Invision Cloud: https://invisioncommunity.com/buy With the Cloud option, you won't have access to the files, but if you provide the backup to IPS they should be able to help. Contact them to double-check how it would work, though. Edited September 16, 2023 by teraßyte
