bing11 Posted October 5, 2022 Author Posted October 5, 2022 some forums' page HTTP ERROR 500 please help
Jim M Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 A 500 Internal Server Error is very much like your car's check engine light. It says something is wrong but not what or where. You will want to grab the server error log entry for your issue. If you are unsure how to gather this information, please contact your hosting provider. Please keep in mind if you recently upgraded to PHP 8, you will want to check to ensure you have all required modules installed with PHP: https://invisioncommunity.com/files/file/7046-invision-community-requirements-checker/?do=getNewComment and if you have third party add-ons, one may be incompatible and you can try recovery mode: https://invisioncommunity.com/4guides/client-services/getting-support-r292/#recoverymode bing11 1
bing11 Posted October 6, 2022 Author Posted October 6, 2022 yes I go back php 7 and fixed this . So php 7 is better than php 8 now ?
Jim M Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 4 minutes ago, bing11 said: So php 7 is better than php 8 now ? PHP 8 is a large jump from 7. In that, PHP has changed a lot of what were "soft errors" to "hard breaking errors". If your third party add-ons were previously doing something were causing one of those soft errors, it now will break your site. Which is why gathering the information requested and doing the steps provided is required to ensure that A) you are not missing any required modules on your server for PHP 8 and B) see if any third party add-ons are interfering. You can find more information about PHP 8's impact here: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/469486-php8-will-be-the-minimum-version-from-november-2022/ bing11 1
