Russell Clamp Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Hi, I'm trying to embed a Facebook Post into one of my forum posts, but it just show up as a link and not as an embed. It's this one: https://therawchef.com/community/topic/8-adesse-selfridges-london/
Marc Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Please take a look at the following guide, which will show you how to get this set uphttps://invisioncommunity.com/4guides/advanced-options/configuration-options/facebook-and-instagram-embedding-r359/
Management Solution Matt Posted January 26, 2022 Management Solution Posted January 26, 2022 Hey Russell, In an ideal world Facebook would have an open embed endpoint and we could use that. Sadly they don't, so you need to set up an App at Facebook and get it through approval. More info here: SeNioR- and Russell Clamp 1 1

Marc Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 Does it give you any reason for the rejection? Unfortunately, as the issue there is on facebooks approval end, there isnt much we can do in terms of assisting you there
SecondSight Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 As for me, I can't find oEmbed anywhere... I have FundRaisers, Jobs, Webhooks, etc. but no oEmbed. Does someone know possibly why ? Thank you. 🙂

Search for oembed read yameth 1
SecondSight Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 (edited) Ok. I tried to do it and in the end it says it's been approved, at different places : Approved : Activated : Another one : It's been ditched to live mode too. But it's still not working... I've checked the information in the ACP and it's correct. Any idea about what I should do now ? Thank you. 🙂 Edited January 28, 2022 by SecondSight
Jim M Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 After you setup the Facebook API is it not working on previous or new posts?
SecondSight Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 On both types of posts. I'm restarting from scratch now. 🙂
Jim M Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 Please provide screenshots in English if you get stuck again and we can help ensure everything is setup correctly.
SecondSight Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 (edited) It doesn't work. oEmbed request is not approved and I don't understand what they say. This seems impossible to do for those who are not conversant with Facebook Development and who don't understand English on their pages and documentation. A step by step tutorial would be helpful... Marc Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 We would need to know exactly what it is they have said in order to advise on this. Just to note however, we provide the instructions on what to do on our end. Requesting approval would be for you to follow their instructions rather than our own. They do however seem to make it difficult, unfortunately

I'm a little confused as to your response there, Mark. You had quoted me there stating that indeed its difficult to set up. This is however facebook who are making it difficult. We have no control over this in any way. It is worth noting here, I did also say we would need to know what has been said in that rejection in order to advise. Without that information, there isnt really anything for us to answer

I wasn't having a go, just to see if you can set it up, then they'd be more chance of a guide working. yameth 1

The issue with guides documenting facebooks side of things, is its unfortunately a never ending game these days. As fast as we document, they change. And the reality is, its really their documentation to request that permission that should be being followed rather than ours in any case

Gary Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Hi @WebCMS, Does this link help you in any way? oEmbed - Social Plugins (facebook.com) I'm sure you can agree that no one can expect Invision Community to provide support on a feature that is accessible and controlled by Facebook. SeNioR- 1
Marc Posted May 21 Posted May 21 OEmbed read is what they have essentially renamed it to, and it requires verification before it will show on facebooks end.
