Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Hunter Smoke Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 Hi there. Prior to the upgrade I confirmed that we were already on IPS4 and met the php/mysql version requirement. When we ran the upgrade last night while extracting the files from the Admin CP upgrade we encountered the following error "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ':', expecting ';' or '{' in /XXX/XXXX/public_html/forum/init.php on line 923" I filed a support ticket but would also like to get this resolved quickly. For whatever reason our host site backup is not restoring to the previous forum version as well as manual downloading and sending the files via FTP. I am curious if editing the file in question above to the expected syntax would resolve the problem (or just make it worse). Thank you!
Hunter Smoke Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 We tried replacing it and now the error reads "Fatal error: Non-abstract method IPS\IPS::isThirdParty() must contain body in /home2/clonetrooper/public_html/forum/init.php on line 923" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
CoffeeCake Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 It sounds like something is corrupted somehow. I would redownload all of the files from the client area and reupload everything, ensuring that your FTP program is transmitting via binary instead of ASCII text. bfarber 1
bfarber Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 I agree, it sounds like the files are corrupted upon upload and you should reupload a full set of files.
