Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
zeekzeek Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 When testing mobile photo uploads, i cam across a few usability issues: a) the file sizes are large `3-6 mb. is there a way to optimize the file upload sizes automatically when uploaded? b) is there a way to have the images automatically rotate if the photo was taken in portrait mode?
Joel R Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Just now, zeekzeek said: a) the file sizes are large `3-6 mb. is there a way to optimize the file upload sizes automatically when uploaded? Are users uploading photos to Forums as attachments or to Gallery as images? In general, you can use the ACP search bar for something like "attachment" to find settings.
zeekzeek Posted June 10, 2020 Author Posted June 10, 2020 (edited) it is to the forums. i looked at the attachment settings. Edited June 10, 2020 by zeekzeek
zeekzeek Posted June 12, 2020 Author Posted June 12, 2020 ok, should I: then have users use the gallery for photo uploads? a third party image hosting site? is there a third party invision community solution? i hope a seasoned admin of a community can chime in.
bfarber Posted June 15, 2020 Posted June 15, 2020 b) Should already be happening, although a bug was reported with the functionality which is fixed in 4.5.
zeekzeek Posted June 22, 2020 Author Posted June 22, 2020 thanks. i'm running 4.4.10. I will test it out once it's upgraded to 4.5
