Search by author workaround?

I have a member (Larry & Grace Heilman) and doing a "Search by Author" no matter what the search wording is will not find anything for them when they have 5000+ posts. I suspect it has to do with the (&) ampersand in their member name or a combination of more than one name? Is there a workaround when doing a search for members like this?
