After Post setting

I thought there was a setting to control where the poster landed after commenting mid thread.  Instead of being directed to their post at the end of a 7 page thread, is there a way they can return to the part of the thread that they either quoted or scrolled down and commented?

Nope, no setting. You are always redirected to the new content.
