Reputation, Reaction, Rating (Differences)

Good day folks, I have been reading through the IPS manuals looking for an explanation of Reputations, Reactions, and Ratings.

I am trying to figure out what actions give reputation points to a member? Is it the Reactions (like, sad, confused, happy, thanks) that give reputation points or is it the Topic rating stars?

It's reactions. 🙂

 

You can configure individual reactions to either add to a users reputation, remove from it, or have no influence at all. By default, the software ships with three reactions that positively influence a users reputation (Like, Thanks, and Haha), and two that have no influence at all (Confused and Sad). For instance, you currently have 97 reputation points:
