REST API created post, no notifications

Hi all,

 

I'm using the API to create a topic for users but I've noticed no one is getting notifications through when people reply to the post (even though they are the topic author). So they don't know people have replied to the post unless they specifically look.

Any idea how to fix this?

You should add a follow for the user after the topic has been posted.

Quick question, what do these two require?

Required followApp	string	Application of the content to follow
Required followArea	string	Area of the content to follow

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to feed in here?

For a topic, followApp will be forums and followArea will be topic
