Custom Page(s) with external DB

So hopefully I can explain this in a simple way, we have some pages that use php and the obvious HTML and javascript. The first page is a search page, searching the DB for the info, takes you to the results page, which allows the user to select an option, then takes the user to the final page displaying the information. -- simple. But now that we use IPBoard, for forums and membership, we want to transfer those webpages into the system using the same theme, should be almost as fast as pasting the functionality of the code.

 

However, 1) how can I set up a page that uses an external DB, allows PHP and all the parts of the page like HTML and Javascript. All I've seen is PHP only and forget the tags... Or HTML only...

 

Any ideas? This is migrating two sites into one, with IPBoard being the main site.
