How to Verify Installation Files are Correct After Restore?

Recommended Posts

Server crash with file scrambling, had to revert to a backup. Each of my recent backups, upon restoration, had minor issues. One lost many gallery albums. Another causes the Admin to load without a theme. I went with the latter.

Is there a file check or system verification I can run to ensure I have all necessary system files?

I had already upgraded to 4.3.6 and so cannot run an upgrade. I'm hesistant to reinstall for fear it will erase data or settings or plugins.

I just tried to add new images and received -200 errors on half of the 75 images I was uploading. Then when I tried to continue to save the images, it completely failed and no new album was created and no images uploaded.

Any ideas?

First I would download a full set of files from your Client Area then upload them to your server, overwriting what is there. This will verify all our core system files are there for 4.3.6.

If you’re still having upload issues, I would suggest verifying all folder/file permissions.

Thank you for replying Jim.

Clarificaton, are you saying I should copy over the existing files, as opposed to running an install routine?

Correct. If you're already on 4.3.6, you can't (and don't need to) run any install routines because your database is already on the latest version. Simply download the .zip file from the Client Area and upload all of the files to your server, replacing your existing ones if asked. This will ensure you're using all of the official files and aren't missing any.

All of your data is stored in the database, so you won't lose any content.
