Move forum from root to a subdirectory?

My forum is installed in the root directory of my server, but want to move it to a sub directory /forums so that I can install a Wordpress front end.

I've been searching/googling but panicking that I kill my forum, is it easy to do??? Is it just a case of modifying the base_url in conf_global.php and physically moving the folders and files?

There is documentation for this:

It is for moving to a different server but many of the steps are the same, you can skip the database transfer steps as you are on the same server.

Yes, it is easy to do. You must move the forum dolders/files to the subdirectory and update the forum url info at conf_global.php file. The follow the steps mentioned in the above posted guide.

I take that back, home page works fine, all the rest give 500 errors.. ?
