Can Profile Fields be locked to a a certain user group?

Hi everyone,

I have added a new Profile Field, to allow members to upload an image. The image would then be displayed in their postbit throughout the forums. And it displays nicely on their profile.

To make it into a reward, I want to tie it with a user group promotion (i.e. you need a count of 500 content before you can use this profile field)

Is it possible to allow a profile field to be used only for certain user groups?

Anything out of the box or via a plugin to achieve this?
