Redirecting dead links on a different domain

I suspect this may not be quite possible to achieve, but I ask just in case. In my forums we have heaps of links to an external website that it's now dead. I don't own that dead site nor its domain nor have I anything to do with it.

Is there a way to redirect our links to that site to a different website? (other than changing them manually)

@DawPi is it possible to redirect links with wildcards (eg https://*.example.com/*) to my new target?
