How do you change a short commerce product description?

There is a long description, that that appears at the bottom and one that appears at the top of the product that appears to be shortened. How do you either a) update what appears there or b) change the character limits?

You can’t. The short version is created via CSS and there is no character limit. It reduces it to a certain amount of lines, defined in the theme template.

It's so not attractive, though. It cuts off and doesn't have much to offer. The only way is direct edit to the theme template?
