Which is the best way to add location field in profiles

I ant to add a Location field mandatory 

It should be county city or just location ...

Pl advise which is the best practice and how to implement the same...

For starters I wouldn't make it mandatory.

Secondly I'd just say "Location" and let the person decide what they want to include. Some will be comfortable saying a suburb or a city, while others will be comfortable with the country, others won't want to include anything and if you make it mandatory will either not sign up, or put in nonsense.
