Announcements : how to show the beginning ?

Is there a setting which allows to show the beginning of an announcement's text ?

I only see the title, and bellow the firts word, then three dots, on my board :

There is no setting. The use of a HTML-stripped and truncated version is hardcoded in the widget template. Code changes for that are somewhere in older forum posts. That questions comes up frequently.
