I have several installations that use the commerce package to sell memberships for their organizations.  The memberships expire on December 31.  Is there any way to set an expiration date for all memberships purchased before a given date?  Say a membership is purchased before December 1, the expiration date is December 31.  Purchased after December 1, it will expire December 31 of the following year.

wrong area... but setup renewals for 1 year instead of monthly.

No. Renewals are based on elapsed time only, not on date of purchase or date of expiration. 

Would be a good feature request though to have the option for calendar year based subscriptions including the options you mentioned.
