Buying from the Marketplace for multiple sites

If I want to buy an application for more than one site on the Marketplace, do I just buy it again?  

Does it record that I have two seats of something for two sites?

Yes. But the system is not so good. I have three sites and it is kind of difficult to keep track of which app I have paid, renewal is a mess.. Should have been a way that we could mark each app with sitename. And also remove all apps we are not using - like the 3.4 ones..

I'll just go ahead and buy duplicates. If there is any confusion it should be something easily sorted out.
