SJ77 Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 If MemberA downloads the same file multiple times each download counts. When would this be useful? I think it would be a much more useful number if it would only allow 1 increment in the count PER user to download the file. I have 1 user who downloaded the same file MANY times. It's annoying (and not helpful) to see his profile avatar multiple times in the "Who downloaded this file" section. He was able to totally screw up my most downloaded file section. Now a file that rightfully should only have 2 downloads is leading in this week, this month and this year download status!! Essentially it turned that section into a False Report. Seems like an easy fix to add a "Distinct" to the select statement in this query. Please consider! thank you PS example of me raising the count on this site from 21 to 40 in just a few seconds.
jcdesign Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 I agree! This is anoying when the statitics and Top Downloads getting false info because a member download a file many times in a short period, or the file have more than one download files in the same direction.
BomAle Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 my personal solution is show unique downloads and a leave a link near to show the download stats...
jcdesign Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 No It´s the same as before. Every time the file is download from the same member, the count increase.
