Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Sheffielder Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Got a bizarre and urgent one here My site is currently unusable for users as they have to log in every time they refresh the page or click onto a link to read a thread etc Any ideas on how to quickly solve this one?
Meddysong Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Maybe related to this? This would be a job for support to help you with. You should open a ticket with them so that they can look underneath the bonnet.
Sheffielder Posted October 29, 2016 Author Posted October 29, 2016 Thank you The site is currently unusable so I deffo need help
Meddysong Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Support's just what the doctor ordered then, buddy. If it's making your site unworkable, flag it up as a high priority and it'll get looked at quicker
Sheffielder Posted October 31, 2016 Author Posted October 31, 2016 Happening to me now too I log in Click a thread, read it, then when I click to go back to the home page or the forum category it logs me out Not just that, but when I'm logged out it's as thought I've gone back in time and I can't see any current/updated threads unless I refresh the page, at which point i"m logged in again on an updated page with all the new threads showing! Bizarre...
SaltyBart Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 I have a closed ticket about this, ips can't reproduce this on my site. The problem appears not always, so we have to live with this... Have you created a ticket?
Sheffielder Posted November 2, 2016 Author Posted November 2, 2016 Yes - same outcome My users are experiencing it on Chrome mostly but also on Safari and mobile too
SaltyBart Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 My on chrome and sometimes on mobile. And here also the same:
MYGNRFORUM Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 We have BOTH these problems, including the appearance that the forum has gone "back in time". I posted about it here and linked back to this thread: It only ever seems to happen with Chrome (though a recent user replicated with Dolphin, which is based on the Chrome source code). @Sheffielder / @R-023, are you hosted with Invision by any chance? Would you say the issue began within the last 6-12 months for you as well?
