Instagram Login Handler

Please add Instagram Login Handler to the core.

There is a plugin available for it. Any particular reason you would want it to be provided in the core?

Instagram is getting more popular than facebook. And facebook is in the core. The problem about plugins is that they add one more concern in updates, as long as sometimes the plugin developer does not make the plugin compatible to new IPS version or take too long for that.

And login and register functions are very important to be left over.

This could work but it needs consideration beyond pure popularity since at that rate you would end up with lots of handlers and no genuine improvement to the software.

I would suggest integration based on well-founded, longer term popularity.

I wonder if IPS could take votes from the community, providing the most likely contenders to vote on. It wouldn't be guarantee to add anything but at least gauge interest levels from people asking for these handlers, as well as provide visible evidence as to which is genuinely in demand.
