Is the database included in a home directory backup?

If I make a backup of the entire home directory, is the IPS database included somewhere in there (if so, where?) or do I need to back it up separately?

Backup the home directory first

then go into phpmyadmin and export the entire database too

As above.

Generally no, the 'home directory backup' will take a backup of the filesytem (public_html and above such as logs etc) but not the database itself.

There's usually an option on that backup page to take a db backup, or an option for a complete backup.
