Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
John_C Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I noticed REST API in the ACP and was wondering if I should do anything with it? It says when I click it: In order to use the REST API: Download this file. Upload it to the /api folder in your site's directory (/home/content/*************). Rename it to '.htaccess' (with no file name).
Daniel F Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 If you're not going to use it, then you don't need to do anything
tekguru Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I thought it might be needed to get the PayPal agreements working so installed it. Am I okay to just remove the file?
Daniel F Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 You don't need to remove the files. It won't harm your system because it's disabled by default. And there's no need to enable it and to set up the permissions if you don't need it. This is only needed if you want that your community communicates with other applications like wordpress or another 3rd party app (e.g. member syncing with another application, or getting/creating content )
