motomac Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Now when user joins chat he usually see empty page. Option "Show chat history upon joining a room" is switched ON, but it works in very weird way - it displays only last 10 minutes messages instead of displaying last, let's say, 20 messages. Perfect solution would be to load older messages automatically when scrolling up. So for me this chat is absolutely useless. People stopped using it, because they can't see previous messages. People don't want to sit in the chat room for hours.
Kjell Iver Johansen Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I have the opposite issue. I do wan't to have an empty chatroom like it is in 3.4.8 when they join. I filed a ticket about this issue - https://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/active-reports/chat-show-chat-history-upon-joining-a-room-r9201/ I think the button you are referring to are not working. At least for me - I like it to work as in 3.4.8. Have not upgraded yet to the latest version.
motomac Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 @Kjell Iver Johansen this option in 4.1.4.1 has the opposite effect. Try to switch it ON, and your chat room will be empty every time. In 4.1.5 it was fixed.

From an admin point of view I'd prefer an option to set "Show history for X messages or minuten" where X can me set as desired.
