How do I start mass email?

How on earth do I get a mass bulk email to start sending emails? I set it all up and followed the steps. Now I see it just sitting there with a message that says not started.

They are typically sent in batches via a task (it runs about every ten minutes) so like all tasks it will depend on board activity to fire it.

Is your community very 'quiet' at the moment or is there activity ?

If you for instance open one topic (or two) and if you can set your browser to re-load these two tabs once a minute each then it should (once any other overdue tasks have caught up) start the mail.

As an alternative you can go to the Task Manager (ACP > Search > Search for "Task" > Click Advanced Config if needed) and run it manually. Its called 'Bulk Mail' its a system task.
