Ok to install a theme while background processes run after upgrade?

Just checking.

Upgraded from 3 to 4 (thank you Mr Higgans!).

Background processes chugging away.

I want to upgrade the theme, activate Pages, set up the store that kind of thing.

Is this stuff ok to do while those processes are running?

I installed a theme and made other changes and had no issue at all. Only things I didn't go near were the items that were rebuilding
