Hi I'm just getting my head around any differences between how I thought subscriptions worked versus how they actually work. What is the best way to implement subscriptions with a free tier? I had thought of using the standard membership as the free tier, but offering paid subscription packages during registration and as upgrades. Is that possible? Or does including subscriptions at registration mean that members are required to have a subscription? Is there another, better way to do it? Cheers John

Hi I was looking to add some video to my courses. If I add video as an attachment, I don’t see a way of limiting video uploads to a specific group, so it will be open to all members. Also I don’t think access to the video is protected in any way? Maybe if it is hosted in an S3 bucket? As an alternative I did wonder about using the Pages Media upload in admin. I could then embed maybe Pages Media in the courses? Trouble is, I don’t see a way of inserting Pages media directly and the new editor doesn’t seem to allow inserting images from a url. I could upload to the gallery and insert from there, but if I only want videos to be accessed within the course, can that work? Placing videos in a hidden gallery, the video would still be available to be viewed by course students? Do the gallery permissions have any effect if an image/video is viewed outside of the gallery? Are there other options? Cheers John

Hey I used to be able to have custom buttons in menu widgets I created in the pages app, with nice css effects using custom css. I can still create the custom css, but can no longer apply the styles to the text. It takes it back to a very texty interface. I am guessing I could create a table and add colour etc. However, such buttons I don’t want underlined link text. What sort of options do I now have? Cheers John

Thanks Marc.... JavaScript and CSS added in Pages templates will still be there, and any HTML in Pages blocks will be retained... but I will need to confirm it all works as expected. That is good, thanks. Would there be an associated cost? Great, many thanks. A difference filter would be handy (I don't know if that is already there?)

Hi I have been going through what is needed for moving to v5. I understand customisations and themes will be removed. I have a few questions before I raise a ticket for the upgrade. You say customisations will be removed. Will Pages app pages, blocks, and templates be removed or rendered inoperable? I assume themes will be removed. Is there any way to prepare for the switchover to v5 to minimise the time that my community will be default-themed? What about language translations? How will they be affected? I am guessing download to preserve existing content. Is there a dummy v5 community for admins to go to to help familiarise ourselves before we switch? Cheers John

Is there a way to dictate the JS file load order? As far as I can see, it's a simple file selection, and then it comes down to the alphabetical order of the file names.

I think there are two things going on: I did have a load in the html, so the load was happening two ways. I have now removed those. It has highlighted another issue, that could be to do with load order. Are JavaScript files in Pages loaded in alphabetical order? My App is loaded in app.js, the Music theory class in theory.js. The app is trying to instantiate the music theory class before the file is loaded, and so doesn’t recognise it. When I tested it outside of invision, (pure html and JS) I controlled the load order.

They are included using the checkbox on the “page includes” in admin.

Hi I run a music forum. I have 6 pages that use PHP blocks and JavaScript. They are music theory tools, a rhyme tool and an interactive “circle of fifths” music composition tool. There might be others! What options do I have? Once upon a time I could code in PHP, but it’s been a long time and things have moved on. I haven’t any real Invision development experience.
