Locked Tasks alert

In my ACP there is a message alert "Locked Tasks" and a list of processes with the suggestion that I need to run these manually. I have never seen this alert before and I am totally unaware of ANY of these tasks --- most seem to relate to parts of my site that are not even in use like Commerce, etc. I am reluctant to try and "run" these tasks because I do not understand any of this. Any advice or info on this would be appreciated. I did submit a support ticket with IPS but have not had a response yet.

Now that is strange .. wonder if also applies to core_cache as that is the one that keeps re-appearing for me

The solution, for now, was replacing the existing updatecheck.php file with a new one I just downloaded.
