ghinton Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Can you split the bug tracker into separate subcategories, such as Core, Forums, Gallery, Blog, Pages, IPS Website, etc. I notice there are bugs reported 10+ days ago that haven't even been acknowledged and appears only the newer reports are being fixed. Also, since this site is running a hybrid version, the reports of what is happening here is totally different than what happens on an end users site, so they shouldn't really be combined.
bfarber Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 We feel that all of the bugs should be treated equally, and that splitting into categories isn't too important to the end result. We don't want a Gallery bug getting ignored because we're focusing on Downloads, for instance. Further, 4.0 is very centralized and subsequently a Gallery bug likely actually exists in the core (same with all apps).
ghinton Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 Well, what about at least bugs on this site vs end user bugs since this site is not running the same version that end users have access to, so a bug reported for here may be totally different that what an end user is getting on their version
Management Charles Posted December 3, 2014 Management Posted December 3, 2014 If there is a bug here it will also exist in user installs so either way they need to get fixed
ghinton Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 I agree and disagree Charles, since the update could also break something that wasn't broken in the other version
bfarber Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 I wouldn't overthink it too much. If there's a problem either here or on your install, just report it with as much details as possible and we'll take care of it.
