broni Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 I just received following email: I have no idea who the sender is. Just one sentence info, no signature. My board is working just fine. What gives?
AlexWright Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 It's not legit. AFAIK, when I was hosted with IPS, all of their emails came from @invisionpower.com. Not to mention, the really bad english is almost a dead giveaway of it not being legit.
broni Posted January 30, 2012 Author Posted January 30, 2012 Thanks. Really weird. I seldom get any spam....
Brandon D Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Best to open a support ticket and ask. I wouldn't put that "really bad english" past a server admin creating a notification script. It's really not "really bad english" either -- maybe a bit too blunt and pretty useless in terms of what you can do.
Michael Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 The fact that it is coming from the ipslink.com domain (which is an IPS domain) and that they mentioned your account name is highly suspect that it may be some sort of automated script that sent it. As Brandon said, you'd want to submit a ticket to verify.
broni Posted January 31, 2012 Author Posted January 31, 2012 Thanks guys :) For some reason I didn't get any email notifications about your replies. I'll open a ticket.
Michael Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Thanks guys :) For some reason I didn't get any email notifications about your replies. Annoying bug on this site: http://community.invisionpower.com/tracker/issue-34478-follows-gone-cannot-be-added/page__view__findpost__p__136037
