Zhana Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Hello, A question from litespeed users, is anyone using Litespeed WebCache? How is the performance when using it? Does it really increases the speed? Link: http://www.litespeedtech.com/support/forum/showthread.php?t=4719 Thank you.
Shadow82x Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I'm on a litespeed VPS server and can say I've been pretty impressed. There is definitely a noticeable difference for IPB when using litespeed and not.
-GR- Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I have litespeed as well and while I don't have our main site converted to IPB yet Litespeed has made a world of difference. We outgrew the old vps we were on and ended up switching to a dedicated box. Even with the dedicated box we were seeing server loads around .70 most of the time which granted isn't much on a quad core cpu but it was costing us $200 a month. We switched to a different hosting provider who offers litespeed on their vps packages and our server load most of the time is below .25 and it is only half the price of the dedicated. We are not using the cache with litespeed because you have to have a 2 cpu enterprise license and we are only on one cpu.
Volvospeed Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 On a dedicated with 4 cores running litespeed. Makes a big difference in memory usage, not a huge difference in CPU. It is easier to manage than apache though and has a much smaller footprint. A lot comes down to how you set up your caching.
