  1. We all eventually become old farts. Some sooner than others though
  2. I haven't had any problems speed wise with any of the RC releases. Granted the site we have it setup on isn't a busy site but page loads are instant.
  3. I did a search and didn't see the thread where this was discussed before but I think it was over on the preview site. There was talk about the ajax pagination and being able to disable it or change the setting but i haven't found any settings for it yet. Does anyone know if there is a way to change it?
  4. There are some of us that like to do hooks for our own community. Someone like me who knows enough to get what I may need accomplished doesn't have the confidence or time to provide support to submit something for others to use.
  5. Why wouldn't tips on creating applications / hooks and add ons not be available to all licensed members without having to contribute to the marketplace? Doesn't make sense to me.
  6. One of the main reasons I want to be able to have paste as plain text the default is we have had numerous times where someone will copy and paste content from another site that has add links in them. 95% of users don't know the difference and the 5% that do can format it after it is pasted.
  7. No I didn't test it. I simply stated that it was mark fixed in the tracker. I am sure the code it is fixed in is not applied to the live site yet.
  8. Bug was marked fixed as of 4 hours ago.
  9. I replied to your other thread about the variables. I do agree that not enough thanks are mentioned for the improvements that have been made. The positives far outweigh any negatives and the few items that I could consider to be negative will more than likely be addressed in future releases.
  10. I am really hoping some of the features like the variables available come back. We had all custom blocks using a primarily cached index page for the live site. Now on the test upgrade I am going to have to basically start completely over which is fine but there is a lot of stuff missing. Seems like a lot of settings we used to have are not there anymore site wide also. I like where 4.0 is going but wish we still had some of those setting options.
  11. One question I have is we currently have our forums under the domain.com/forums/ directory and ip.content in the root folder and have had it this way since we switched to IPB. If we were to switch to having everything in the root folder would I need to do any nginx redirects or will IPB automatically take care of the 301's?
  12. I am not crazy about the whole following thing either. Friends is much more personable. Maybe it is as easy as editing the language strings to change it? A toggle setting would be nice.
  13. I agree or at least the ability to specify the default per usergroup maybe.
  14. Yes that is what I would be looking to do. Having it download the image to serve locally would work too. However I am not sure if you could infringe upon any copyright laws doing so.
  15. I did a search and didn't see anything. Would really be nice to have the ability to create proxy urls for images posted on the site from other urls. Xenforo I believe implemented something like this about a year ago. I would like to eventually switch over to https but images from other sources is one of the things holding us back.
  16. It is very nice to see that much of the UI being shown. Looking forward to seeing more of the improvements. Keep up the great work.

    Tutorials

Thanks Michael. That was it. I found all the other settings and even the permissions for the permission groups but for some reason failed to find those when I set it up. Looks like it is all working now.

    Tutorials

I don't recall seeing a setting for permissions to submit as other members? I will go through and double check. I did the moderator permissions on the categories and also did the permissions on each of the categories. At first I thought it might be because it was on the test site and I have it set to be offline so I turned it online for a little bit to try and still did the same thing.

    Tutorials

I did a search on the topic but didn't see anything. I don't know if I am missing something setting wise or not but when promoting a forum post to a tutorial why does the tutorial author become me rather than stay as the original forum post author?
  20. Has the outgoing emails been updated to being sent as the support departments email rather then the global community outgoing email address?

    Classifieds

I just want to put in another vote for more per usergroup permissions. Like how many ads and price per ad per usergroup.
  22. This is the way I would prefer it to be also so some sort of answer would be terrific.
  23. That is great to hear your experience. I think the staff does a great job with handling everything. Some people put themselves in the situations they get in and expect instantaneous fixes on the weekend and if it doesn't happen they complain about it. It is nice to hear the positive experiences and it is a shame because usually those are the ones that you don't hear enough of, not because they don't happen but because if someone doesn't have a problem they don't bother letting other people know.
  24. Who is making you upgrade? If the software vendors never updated the software it would be a very boring world. If you have a test site keep the live site on the current version you are running and work on the test site on the styling and getting everything the way you want. Once that is finished updated your live site and import your style from the test site.
