Worldoversea Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Just registered and tried the demo on your board. The changes are amazing, hats off to you. I did find something that might be a quick fix or not a bug at all and that is how it works. When you go to change the location and you enter something it can not find (city, state), there is no message or info bar, the only tabs that show is save or cancel. If you cancel it lets you enter something again but why should it show save if it did not find anything. It should show cancel or enter again or something like that. The real estate and setting link is perfect. :thumbsup: I'll dowload and install on the test board.

chuckf Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 still not having any luck :( Please see your PM.
.Ian Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 On your site, on the temperature for tomorrow I am seeing12 °C This
Worldoversea Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Nice find. I'll put that in the tracker and fix it in the next release. Glad you like the new version! Would appreciate an additional simple request if possible. When you click on the top box heading for WeatherBug, it leaves the forum page totally, can you make it so it opens up another window rather than have the member leave the forum board? Also, when we update versions, do we copy the files over, go to manage and will see the update link?

This annoys me too. I've added this issue to the tracker for the next release. Also, when we update versions, do we copy the files over, go to manage and will see the update link? That's correct. You update Weather just like any other IPB application. Complete instructions are in the readme.txt in the Weather_n_n_n.zip file.
Worldoversea Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 That's odd. It shows like that for English units too. I'll look into it. Fellows, it's weird but I can not reproduce this error, mine shows up fine. Take a look at my test board with old database: http://jeeptalk.net/jeeptalk31/ Could it be a messed up or outdated php soap on a server?
Worldoversea Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 On your site, on the temperature for tomorrow That's odd, mine does not say for tomorrow or tomorrow's day, it shows for the current day.
Worldoversea Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Here is another interesting thing I found. If a member is in the US with a valid local zip setting (or city, etc) and valid station, but the member is more comfortable displaying Celsius rather than Fahrenheit. They go ahead and change the default to Celsius it still shows Fahrenheit. Did not test this choosing a European county. The though behind this is that if I was to travel abroad I would be more comfortable reading the temp. in F rather than in Celsius. Not sure if this has to do with Weatherbug and the area that you choose.

Worldoversea Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Chuck, have a big problem, just installed on my live board and users are reporting the following: I have found this on Win7 (32 and 64 bit) using both Chrome and IE8. I haven't noticed it using Mac OS10.6 with either Safari or Chrome. I can see that I am clearly logged in, but still get the modal dialog to log in again. Entering my login credentials in these fields doesn't really do anything either. When I hit the 'LogIn' button, it just clears the fields and asks me to do it again. Hitting the 'Cancel' button removes the dialog and returns me to JT, where I am logged in. Hope that helps... [img] [/img] I have followed some trouble shooting and I might be wrong but it might have to do with that I have my admin folder renamed for security. It points: applications_addon/other/weather/skin_cp/appIcon.png Could the cp_skin_weather.php have code in it refering it to the default admin folder name? I had to uninstall from the live board.
Worldoversea Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I think I found the problem with the pop up window error for all my members. On my live board I have an .htaccess password for the ACP in addition to the regular admin login. It is effecting the front end of the live board when I installed the Weather mod. If I remove the .htaccess all works fine. I did not see this on my test board because it does not have .htaccess configured for added security. If this is so, what can I do to edit the code of the mod to have it working on the front end and still have .htaccess for the ACP? Many thanks.

chuckf Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 Just posted Weather 1.2.0 which fixes all known issues and implements some requested changes.
Worldoversea Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Looking good. Thank you for the fast update. Btw, On the upgrade or install, the weather.png only moves over to the master and not the mobile or custom skins. You have to manually create the weather folder and move over the image file to each one.
chuckf Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 Looking good. Thank you for the fast update. Btw, On the upgrade or install, the weather.png only moves over to the master and not the mobile or custom skins. You have to manually create the weather folder and move over the image file to each one. I discovered that problem during testing and included information in the INSTALL section of the readme.txt file. Unfortunately the readme didn't make it into the Weather_1_2_0.zip download file. I have updated the zip file so if you download it after the date/time of this post it will have the readme file. I have attached the readme.txt file to this post for those of you who have already downloaded the zip file. I apologise for the inconvenience. Chuck
Volstate Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I've got a question....If there is a weather advisory or warning will this app display that somehow?
chuckf Posted July 3, 2011 Author Posted July 3, 2011 Volstate, thanks for the idea. The new version (v1.3.0) does support weather alerts for US locations. Also in the new version - weather block for your IP.Blog and IP.Content pages.
Azoun Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Since updating to the newest version it has brought back the old bug for European temperatures. It is showing - High: 71 °F The image below shows this more clearly: I look forward to a fix for this please :) Thanks!
chuckf Posted July 4, 2011 Author Posted July 4, 2011 Azoun, thanks for reporting this problem. I've made a small code addition to admin\applications_addon\other\weather\sources\classes\gateway.php. This change is already in the download zip so if you downloaded after the date/time of this post you already have the fix. For those that want to apply the change themselves here it is: In gateway.php find this code starting a line 297: else { $wx = $this->library->getForecast($weather_location_code, $weather_location_type, $weather_unit_type); $this->library->addLog( 'weatherGateway:_getForecast:wx', $wx ); $day = $wx[0]; $wx = (array)$day; $this->library->addLog( 'weatherGateway:_getForecast:day', $wx ); if (empty($wx)) { $lookupFailed = true; } } and replace it with: else { $wx = $this->library->getForecast($weather_location_code, $weather_location_type, $weather_unit_type); $this->library->addLog( 'weatherGateway:_getForecast:wx', $wx ); $day = $wx[0]; $wx = (array)$day; $this->library->addLog( 'weatherGateway:_getForecast:day', $wx ); if (empty($wx)) { $lookupFailed = true; } if (!$lookupFailed) { $wx['TempUnit'] = IPSText::utf8ToEntities($wx['TempUnit']); } } Note: Because the forecasts are cached you'll have to wait for the forecast to refresh before seeing the change.
Worldoversea Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Noticed you updated 2.0 to work with 3.2 IPB. If we install 2.0 on 3.1.4 IPB, will it still work? Thank you. JB
simplymesobe5280 Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Many thanks for new upgrade :D Since i installed it on Version 3.2.0 i see the following message in the acp1 Items Requiring Attention New Version Available: 1.3.0
HellaWicked Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 This looks like a really nice Mod, but one thing makes it a bit unattractive to me. That thing being that everything looks too close to the edges of the block (screenshot below with red lines to show not much room). You should maybe consider adding some spaces to make it look more consistent with the rest of the sidebar blocks that come with the board. Also, maybe you can add a line break before where it says "Forecast for Sunday night". Still a great mod though.
