Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
joelle Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 From 1.215.447 posts are only 2.451 posts indexed by google webmaster tools after a period of 3 years. How can this be improved?
Management Matt Posted December 30, 2010 Management Posted December 30, 2010 Do you mean topics? Google won't index each post separately. Have you tried the new SEO app?
joelle Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 Yes, I mean topics & you are right that i have posted the forum posts (sorry). Let me adjust the topics count to 45.064 Still, google didn't index many (only 2.451) of them. Recently, I have installed the seo app and before that i had the DB30 Google sitemap app installed.
Management Matt Posted December 30, 2010 Management Posted December 30, 2010 If you have the seo app installed then I'm sure it'll pick up over the next few weeks. Stick with it!
bfarber Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 You should probably also double check all of your forum permissions. If guests can't access a forum, chances are that Google can't either. :) If 40,000 of your 45,000 topics are in forums restricted to members-only, then that would explain why Google doesn't index a large portion of them. (The above is just an example - for other tips, you may wish to post in the IP.SEO help forum)
