Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Connor T Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I like knowing how many hits these various spiders have sent to my server, but I cannot keep 100k+ records on top on my forum with spider hit after hit. Is there anyway during the removal that the count can be stored? But the records destroyed? So I can keep like a counter of weekly spider hits, monthly and soon yearly?
3DKiwi Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Yeah good suggestion. I have disabled bot logging as I'm not interested in reading 27,000 pages of Google hits and having my database increased by 60mb but I am interested in the number of hits. Those with cpanel or similar can get get search engine stats but it would be nice if IPB could track just hits. 3DKiwi
JahLion Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I've notice when disabled bot logging it give errors in the sitemap, because i disabled bot logging this morning and when i went to my webmaster tools the sitemap had errors,so after i enable it back the errors went away,so i don't think this good thing.
3DKiwi Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I don't get errors and have bot logging disabled. The only errors I had were caused by 2 default IP Content pages. Resaving the pages updated them and the errors went away. 3DKiwi
