Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Rheddy Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Don't know what everyone else thinks about the new default dashboard setup, but I hate it. This isn't meant as a rant but I don't like the new setup. What I liked about the previous version, is that when I logged into my forum ACP, the first thing I would see, is how many members I had, how many posts were made and how many User Accounts were locked. These were useful links that I always took advantage of and I had the ability to unlock those accounts right away. Instead, what do we get? Links to various news items at the IPS website. While I'm sure that someone thought it was a great idea, I don't like the new setup. Now? Not only do I forget about locked accounts but now I have to actually "remind" myself to look for them. This was the worst idea I have seen come from the production of the ACP setup. Personally, I want to see the old setup return because it's now becoming a minor annoyance.
Tom Christian Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Now? Not only do I forget about locked accounts but now I have to actually "remind" myself to look for them. I have to agree with you on this part. I looked the other day and had 18 locked accounts and around 30 validating (mainly spam) members. I never had this problem before. Some extra blocks with vital information should definitely be added back in there. Edit - Ooopps, Just read that topic
Rheddy Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 Thanks, Tom. I'm just glad that I'm not the only person who feels this way. It just felt like IPS had turned my ACP Dashboard into an Advertising tool for IPS website links. That is, like, so not good. It's just made my life a whole lot more difficult that I actually have to "search" for these features now that they are no longer part of the dashboard.- 3 for IPS changing the Dashboard.
