How About Some Basic SEO In The Title

Why is it that when I go to different pages on my IPB site that the most important part of the title is at the very end of the title? The name of a gallery image, the name of a post etc. I'm not interested in Site Name - > Gallery - > Page Content I'm interested in SEO which is what I thought this new version was going to improve upon. In fact I was rather amazed that it was like that when I purchased it IPB, but then there was so many other positive things I thought surely that would get taken care of. When will it be changed?

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx80 and that's about where google will axe the title, this really amazes me. It's basic SEO and the more I type this message the more I'm shaking my head. The title is one of the most important parts of a page and it's completely going to waste.

If it's some simple (should be) setting I've missed please let me know.

The topic title was, at some point during development, changed to the format: "{Context Specific} - {Board Name}" forum wide.

As you can see, it is still that way in topic view, but it seems to have reverted in certain areas (i.e. forum view, etc.)

I'll chat with the devs about it. :) (Matt will hate me, I've been bugging him all week!)

I would sure like to see this very soon. I can't believe I would be the only one noticing this and not think its something important and overlooked for some strange reason. The content of the page should always (almost always) be before site names, categories etc. or at the very least be an option in the admin panel to change at the owners discretion.

I've just gone through the core forums application and made all of the titles consistent. There are no longer any titles in the format "Board Name -> Content Title", they are instead "Content Title - Board Name". I'll try to look at the add-ons as well.

With that being said, try not to spend too much time sweating the finer details of SEO when it comes to forums - they have so much content that search engines naturally love them. Plus, Google has recently started indexing much longer page titles, but even before that change, IP.Board content has been indexed perfectly well for a long time.

I'll do my best to make sure all the titles feature the most page relevant text at the beginning, though, as it's better for users too.
